Lets start by getting past the "its all for the music" bullshit.
There is much much more to it than that. Being in a band is an emotion, and mental roller coaster. It can be the most euphoric feeling you can ever experience, and it can be the biggest burden in your life. To get the record straight we love our music and music in general, but were not going to feed you the typical bands replies, we have a chance to tell you how "it" is and were going to do just that.
As most musicians and artists in general are in it for a number of their own reasons, first off we'd like to say that we do this for our fans. We thank the people that listen to us from the beginning to the end, we thank the people that listen to our song one time because they took the time to even listen. It is always fun to have the freedom to say what you want to say, do what you wanna do, live the life that you want to live. "If you find a job you love, you never have to work a day in your life." This is what we are born to do, this is what we love to do, and its in our destiny. We just want everyone we meet to be a part of our life and hear what we have to say.
Our band didn't start like most local bands would, not saying its a bad thing, but nothing about our formation was typical. Tony having just moved from L.A. in time to meet Kris randomly at a Walmart, who then tried out James the day he moved here from Phoenix, AZ, which was enough to build a perfect foundation. Kris on guitar, Tony on bass, and James doing what 5 generations of his family have been doing, singing. After a short, nasty, drum tryout we found Chants who had happened to talk to James while he was in Phoenix. Perfect. Now the same day we decide to look for a second guitar player, is the same day Zach's band of two and half years decides to call it quits and let us steal him. We knew when we were told that he couldn't make his tryout because he was arrested, we liked him already. At our first actual practice together we knew that this band had formed.
Each of us coming from different musical backgrounds, we've come up with an almost strange monster. Kris and Zach are complete opposite writers and players, Kris coming from shredland and a very heavy influence and Zach from a Melodic and Catchy spectrum they somehow fit perfect together. Coming from guitar player to bass prodigy was Tony. Chants, growing up on 80s hair metal and Latin styles of drumming, had his first metalcore drum workout during his tryout and he nailed it. James with a late 70's rock background had the range to not need us to get a "second singer" as most bands do, hes the front man we were hoping for.
To put it bluntly, we kinda just took off. We were straight to business, all or nothing, it was a gamble for everyone involved. Our first show landed us a main support spot at Jillians, which was a pretty moderate turnout, and since we've been gradually building a hardcore fan base not only in Vegas, but worldwide. Our local scene holds some of the most dedicated, hardcore, mother fuckers, and we love each and every one of you. All of us being in our own music scenes for years we felt an impact so sudden, and almost suspicious, its probably gotten to our heads, just kidding, kinda. Our first four months on Myspace was music less yet we still had supporters already waiting for the debut. When our two songs, "Bright Lights Fade." and "Sell Your Soul" posted alone 1 year ago, we had no idea they would bring us 243,000 profile hits and a countless number of dedicated fans, yes, bot-free, and this is just the first year of our bands life and its been a fun ride and we cant wait to embark on our trip to the top. With the support of local brother bands (you know who you are mother fuckers, haha) we
are doing what the music scene should always have been doing, help each other up, for years its been a competition but the camaraderie of bands lately has been phenomenal. For the bands that hate (you know who you are, mother fuckers) its cool that you know who we are.
Being in this band has been short lived, but we've been through a lot together. The trials and tribulations of being in a dedicated, successful band are harder than most people know. We all have to pay our dues, this is not an easy task as any musician knows. We've become brothers and best friends and we think that factor works very well in our favor. We have a lot to come in our near future, which we cant wait to experience. Including a sold out show at Chain Reaction with a national act (we love you guys) also not to forget some great local shows with nationals as well. We look forward to every moment, and are going to take advantage of every opportunity.
We look forward to meeting you all in the future, we hope to meet all of you at one point. Who ever you may be. Thanks for taking a couple of minutes out of your day to read about us crazy pirate mother fuckers. Listen to our music, it speaks for itself.
