Biography
Formed in South Wales UK 2003 out of the frustration of not hearing what they wanted in local bands, the six members of When Reason Sleeps got together one by one to produce what has been described as intense melodic hardcore with bursts of chaos and big hooks. All six members played in previous bands local to South Wales.

With Ryan and Gareth having formerly played together and Antony, Tom, Sean and Alex in another band together, they were familiar with each other. Once the decision was made to form a new band, work immediately started on new material. Taking influences from all over the music scene, and combining the individual ideas from each band member new songs were written. The result is a fusion of the bands favourite music and what they wanted to hear. The variety of music ranges from slow quiet melodic parts to raging screams and soaring guitars.

During the past year, the band was busy practising throughout the summer and went into recording emerging with their debut demo, The Complete Guide to an Awkward Start. Bethan and Huw from BBC Radio One described their demo as, “a dynamic synthesis of muscular hardcore aggression and scintillating guitar melody.” When Reason Sleeps also had the opportunity to feature on a Pop Factory Compilation with the likes of Midasuno and Jarcrew. The most impressive experience of their so far short music careers was having the chance to support the LostProphets on their recent UK tour in October of 2003.
Playing venues from around the country along with Eden Maine, When Reason Sleeps thoroughly enjoyed the experience and managed to gain an impressive amount of followers who regularly keep up to date with news and attend the gigs that they play.

When Reason Sleeps have had the pleasure of playing with a variety of bands some of which include Aconite Thrill, Hondo Maclean, Douglas and many more. Looking to tour the country again at the end of the year the band will be promoting their recent release 'This bullet makes us equal EP', this 7 track EP is released through local label lifetakerecords. When reason sleeps thought it was a vital step to get their music heard and hopefully can act as a stepping stone to bigger an better things. They are currently spending all spare time possible at either the studio recording songs or playing local venues to a lively audience. With Alex Wiltshire and Sean Smith on vocals, Antony Partridge and Gareth Hopes on guitar, Tom Coburn on bass and Ryan Westwood on drums this sextet from the welsh valleys prove to be an entertaining live band, who enjoy every minute of what they do.
