Biography
Richmond, Virginia based, Motion Picture Demise is rapidly making their mark on the music scene. The five have no problem setting themselves apart from the rest with intelligent lyrics, dynamic melodies and intense rhythms. On their follow up album, Motion Picture Demise is making it nearly impossible for listeners to answer the all-too-common question, “Who do they sound like?” In the fall of 2005 the band set out to write a record uninhibited by genre labels in an effort to distance themselves from the dime-a-dozen, flavor of the week groups who only exist to cash in on pre-existing trends. Front man Travis Tucker carries a truly unique voice boasting a great range from underlying whispers on “Fail With Me” to full-on wails in “Causin’ A Stir”. The record’s strength also lies in the jaw dropping guitar lines of guitarists Ferraro and Howard. At the heart of the CD are riffs and solos that seem to expand on the licks of seminal rock bands from the 70’s and 80’s. Their unforgettable live performance has each song flowing from one to the next, creating an epic magnetism. With music that will make the little hairs on the back of your neck stand up and a live show brimming with heart, guts, and sweat, Motion Picture Demise is headed for enormity. The band has played countless shows throughout their home state of Virginia as well as in the Northeast and Midwest while sharing the stage with such national acts as Underoath, Beloved (US), Midtown, Armor for Sleep, Boys Night Out, Steel Train, A Small Victory, Far-Less, Tokyo Rose, Figure Four, as well as played the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. Look for Motion Picture Demise on tour across the United States and Canada in 2006.
Motion Picture Demises forthcoming album was produced by Daniel James Goodwin, (Murder by Death, Fountains of Wayne, The Blackout Pact, etc…) at the world famous clubhouse studios in Rhinebeck, NY. Mastered by Dominick Maita (Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, Spitalfield, Lola Ray, etc…) at Airshow Mastering.
