Biography
The seductive swagger of rock-n-roll is eternal, and one of the finest American practitioners of this raw, dangerous, heart pounding style is Beautiful Creatures.

Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Beautiful Creatures are set to release their long awaited sophomore CD, 'Deuce' on August 23, 2005, through Spitfire Records, a division of Eagle Rock Entertainment. Vocalist Joe LeSte, guitarist Anthony Focx, guitarist Mark Simpson, bass guitarist Kenny Kweens and drummer Timmy Russell, invite you to enter the electric underworld of 'Deuce.' As you take a wild ride through this dark rock-n-roll carnival of 'Deuce,' inside you will find that life is a game of chance, won by those that believe in themselves. "We've always believed in ourselves, even when no one else did" says the raspy voiced LeSte, "We're all about perseverance." This was shown to be true, soon after Beautiful Creatures was formed in 2000, it didn't take long for the band to get noticed. They signed with Warner Bros. Records and released their self-titled debut album in 2001.

"1 A.M." and "Ride" appeared on the 'Valentine' and 'Roller Ball' movie soundtracks. Beautiful Creatures' music was used on television as well. "1 A.M." was used in 'Smallville' and "Wasted" was played on 'The Man Show' to name a few.

To get a full dose of Beautiful Creatures you have to see them live. Their high-energy, unapologetic rock-n-roll show will pull you into a swirling vortex of killer riffs and crushing rhythms that leave you wanting more."We're like five heathens from hell coming at you from all directions" claims LeSte. "Once we hit the stage you can't take your eyes off of us, we own it," continues Kweens. In 2000, the band first opened up for KISS on a short leg of their Reunion Tour . Then they tore-it-up across the country with the Ozz Fest Tour in 2001. In New York City they filmed a live concert for HBO's 'Reverb.' Still thirsting for more, Beautiful Creatures played out the year on the Rolling Rock Tour, before heading overseas for a headlining tour throughout Japan in 2002. "We love touring and playing live. It's a lot like sex. There's a give and a take, a push and a pull, everyone is sweatin' and screamin' and it feels real good in the end," says Kweens. The band claims that the name Beautiful Creatures is all about the fans. "The tattooed misfits, the pierced freaks, the outcasts, the groupies, whatever you want to call them. We call them Beautiful" says, LeSte.

Unfortunately, record company problems detoured this runaway train. When America Online merged with Time Warner. Warner Bros. Records was thrown into chaos. Beautiful Creatures was one of many acts dropped in the corporate bloodletting. This happened not long after the debut album was released. But the ever-resilient band would not be stopped. "This band has been to hell and back," says Kweens, "and on 'Deuce' you can hear all about our trip."

Over time , LeSte, Focx and Kweens, with a razor-sharp musical focus in mind, kept writing songs, kept recording and with Simpson and Russell, found the perfect fit to complete Beautiful Creatures. "Beautiful Creatures is a gang," LeSte says. "We're a team. We put our heart and soul into everything we do." Anthony Focx, the group's guitarist, was also the producer on 'Deuce.' "We are fighters, survivors. We've overcome a lot of adversity, because we are self made," says Kweens. "Who knew 4 producers and 4 studios later that the guy we were looking for all along was standing right next to us? Anthony did a great job with the CD. Nobody knows Beautiful Creatures sound better, he came in and just nailed it."

Beautiful Creatures signed with Spitfire because of the total passion and commitment displayed by the label's entire staff. Spitfire plans to make sure every rock 'n' roll fan in the world gets caught in the fury that is 'Deuce.'
