Biography
This band, 'We Play Loud' doesn't get to play loud as much as we'd like. Why? Well, because we're always way too loud or too much trouble, or too big for the stage or something. One of our fine guitarists, Buddy D., invests a fair chunk of trust fund money into his 'PA Systems of Famous Bands' collection, which of course we must use when we play. Seriously, kids, ask your parents before coming to a show because Buddy owns, I think, 21 touring sound systems from the 60s right on up to last month. Sheesh. Some singer named Iggy sold Buddy his incredibly hacked up, really large, linoleum covered, 1972 sound system, and just the speakers alone fill 4+ pickupsstacked two up! That's just one part of our 21 piece setup. So, we tote a lot of gear, thus the name, thus the unusually high decibel output, thus the myriad of city/county/state noise laws that are continually challenged, thus the unhappy event holders, and finally back to us...We Play Loud, passed over again for another Sunday in the park concert. We're pretty much stuck too because of our name. There's this other thing that only adds fuel to the fire as they say.
Now, in an attempt to take this loud thing to an even crazier level, Bigbilly, Bud, Guy, and Kirsten have invented some sort of module/plugin that is supposed to double the db level of all sound within a particular quarter mile radius. Yep, they're seriousThe Sonic BrainPiercer, and I'm pretty sure it works. NASA was over here last week looking at it I think. The feature I appreciate most is the SBP's ability to virtually eliminate any distortion in the doubling process, leaving the fans with that priceless, super clean, crisp, cold, Mohave morning feel in the air...except, of course, whippin' loud.
