Biography
Boys Night Out was formed in early 1998 as a 5 piece comprised of five young guys from Burlington Ontario. The Original lineup consisted of Jay Samilski on lead vocals, Jeff Davis and James Gagne on guitar, Rob Pasalic on bass, Adam Kingsbury on drums, with occasional guest vocals from Connor Lovat-Fraser, a vocalist from several popular local bands. The band practiced occasionally, and quickly wrote enough songs to begin playing local concerts. However, after their first show, the members parted ways and the band was seemingly forgotten. It wasn't until the first months of 2001 that Jeff Davis and Connor Lovat-Fraser started writing songs together, with the idea of getting Boys Night Out started again. After going into the studio and laying down two raw, new Boys Night Out songs, with Davis and Lovat-Fraser playing all the instruments, a buzz began to re-form around the idea of Boys Night Out, no one exactly sure that it was even to be a real band, or just a lazy side project that would not lead to anything serious whatsoever. With this new demo recording floating around, the band renewed the interest of Rob Pasalic, who at the time was playing in the punk/ska band Ruins, with friend Dave Costa. Rob brought along Dave to fill in the empty spot on bass guitar, so with Davis playing lead guitar, and Lovat-Fraser on vocals, the band just needed a drummer. They approached Chris Danner, ex-drummer for Grade, a very popular band also from Burlington, and he immediately jumped on board. Finally a real band again, they decided to go back into the studio, and record a proper demo cd. The demo consisted of four tracks, and was titled "You are My Canvas". Two songs off of this demo went up on the internet, where a huge online interest was immediately peaked. Fortunately for the band, this interest wasn't from fans alone, but from other bands, and also from record labels. The band was contacted by Chris Tzompanakis from the American label, OneDaySavior Recordings. However, even before a formal deal could be reached, Carl Severson from Ferret records came into the picture, very interested in working with the band as well. So, a deal was reached where OneDaySavior would release the bands first CD, and then they would sign a contract with Ferret Records for their following three albums.

By Christmas of 2001, the band had their first EP in the works, and a record deal with a prominent US hardcore label. At this point, they had only played a handful of local shows, and were looking to begin touring, and getting their name out all over the continent. Due to some conflicting interest within the band, the members had to part ways with drummer Chris Danner, to be replaced by long time friend of the band Ben Arseneau. With this lineup, things finally started to fall into place, and by February, the boys were on their way to Long Island to record their first 6 song Cd.

Throughout the spring the band continued to play locally, and then ventured into the US to cover cities along the east coast, as well as throughout the Midwest, building a very committed following of fans wherever they went. With the release of Boys Night Out's first CD, entitled 'Broken Bones and Bloody Kisses', things began to really start happening for the band, and fans from cities all over North America were demanding that the band come down to play their town.

Come summer, the band ventured out to Western Canada, and then down through the US again, with a very encouraging response wherever they played. After returning home and taking a break from touring, the guys decided to start working on their second album; a full length that would be released on Ferret records. As the band's sound began to fully develop they found themselves in constant rehearsal, flooded with new ideas for their new record. The recording date was pushed further back, and the band worked harder on getting their album ready. Finally, by March of 2003, they were in the studio, and ready to go. Their second release entitled, "Make Yourself Sick" was over a year in the making, with 2 full months in the studio to finally complete it.

Now, the band is gearing up to leave for their first full US tour, beginning in the mid-west, and heading down to California. The band will consistently be on the road, building support for their new album, until it comes out, on September 23rd of 2003. The album is being distributed by a division of Sony records, and will be sold all over North America, as well as Asia, and Europe as well.

With a new CD on the way, a full US tour on the go, over 100,000 downloads from their internet music site as well as several large Toronto concerts planned in support of their album, and an appearance on Much Music, the fall of 2003 is turning out to be very promising for Boys Night Out.
